The difference between fake news, disinformation, and misinformation

You have probably heard the terms fake news, disinformation, and misinformation before, but did you know that there is a difference between them? Because there is, and the difference is not big, but important, and we from Factiverse think it’s important that you know it.


Okay, first let’s talk about misinformation. Misinformation is false information that is spread, but the false information spreading is not spread with the intent to mislead other people. Here then comes disinformation and fake news. Disinformation is someone spreading false information with the intent to mislead people, and fake news is disinformation that mimics the form of the mainstream news.
